Client Spotlight: MovHer
At Breakaway, we say our mission is to “bring joy to accounting,” and that means joy not just for our advisors, but for our clients too. That’s why we intentionally choose to partner with businesses whose values align with our own. We find joy from coming alongside our clients to provide the financial services they need to reach their personal and professional goals.
Therefore, we also find joy by turning a spotlight on our clients from time to time, to celebrate their mission and successes.
This month we’re excited to feature MovHer and Maids of MovHer, a woman-owned independent moving company based in Spokane, Washington.
We spoke with Sabrina Jones, founder and owner, about her company and her partnership with Breakaway.
What is MovHer’s origin story?
In 2010, I started renting a Budget truck to take jobs on the weekends since I was working full time during the week. Two years later, I was able to purchase my own truck, leave my job, and pursue MovHer full time. By 2016, we leased our first office and warehouse space, which we quickly outgrew. Today we have 10,000-sf of space in Spokane Valley, six moving trucks, 2,000-sf of temperature- and humidity-controlled wine storage, and an additional 10,000-sf of warehouse space in Spokane to accommodate our customers’ storage needs. In 2022, we opened our first branch in Wenatchee, Wa. to better serve our central and western Washington customers from that location.
Wow, that’s a lot of growth! What has aided your success?
Our secret sauce is our employees who go out each and every day in our pink-circled Movher trucks. They take our mission, our vision, our values and put them into practice through their actions in the field.
We’re also proud to be an independent moving company, not connected to a franchise or national van line. We are truly homegrown and are honored to give back to our community that supports us, as well. Transitions is our preferred non-profit, although you can also find us helping at many other community events throughout the year, especially around the holidays.
That’s a lot to manage. What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?
Time management!
What brings you the most joy as a business owner?
Working with dedicated and fun people.
What is one problem your Breakaway advisor helped you solve?
Our Breakaways advisors, Rick Hansen and Deanna Fowler, have provided us with great expertise in financial planning, specifically in developing KPIs for different roles in my companies.
